Camp Fire Status in the Lake Cowichan Fire Department Protection Area - CAMP FIRES ARE PERMITTED 

There is currently not a campfire restrictions for the Coastal Fire Centre/Lake Cowichan Fire Department Protection Area, see bylaws for more information.

Forest Use Status in the Lake Cowichan Fire Department Protection Area -  CATEGORY 2 & 3 ARE PERMITTED 

There is class 2 & 3 burning for the Coastal Fire Centre/Lake Cowichan Fire Department Protection Area, see bylaws for more information.

As the Lake Cowichan Fire Department protects both The Town of Lake Cowichan and under contract for parts of area's E and F of the Cowichan Valley Regional District, bylaws differ from area to area. The Lake Cowichan Fire Department will only respond to fires where property and or life is in danger, for burning complaints direct your Calls to the Town or CVRD Bylaw enforcement departments.

This Danger Class map is intended for general public information only. For regulated forest operations, the Danger Class value must be derived from weather data representative of the site on which operations are being conducted, this map is provided by the Ministry of Forest and Range.
