The Lake Cowichan Fire Department may be tasked to support the British Columbia Ambulance Service when the Ambulance is either Delayed or ask for our assistance for various reason, patients can be assured that our volunteer firefighters will respond when requested to provide assistance to patients until Ambulance Paramedics arrive or to support Paramedics on scene.
LCFD apparatus carries basic life-support equipment and oxygen as well as an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) as well as a variety of spinal immobilization equipment. Firefighters’ train closely with BCAS Paramedics to provide superior patient care to it citizens.
